Lorenzo Cain

Once again filling the narrative of a right-handed hitting outfielder, another possible target for the Los Angeles Dodgers could be Royals’ outfielder Lorezno Cain. With only one year left on his contract the Royals may seek to get what they can out of Cain, with the Dodgers being the perfect destination for Cain.

Cain is a dynamic hitter, fielder, and has surprisingly quick speed. Not only that, like every other outfielder on this list, Cain thrives against left-handed pitching. Cain brings a very similar play style to Yasiel Puig, but is an even better hitter against left-handed pitching. A straight swap between the the two would only make the Dodgers better, and would give the Royals more service time.

Cain would be the perfect batter to hit clean up in the Dodgers line up against left-handed and right-handed pitchers. We have seen bright spots in the Dodgers lineup, but they lack a true power hitting, run producing clean up hitter. Bellinger is the most realistic option as of now, however, he would be better suited to be a fifth spot hitter.

With a surplus of outfielders, especially in the farm system, it may be wise to trade several years of Puig for one season of Cain. This would give the Dodgers a better chance of reaching the World Series this season, and open up a spot for the farm system down the road.
