NBA Free Agency 2017: Five best landing spots for J.J. Redick
By Keith Rivas
Atlanta Hawks
When looking at any of the Eastern Conference teams that made the playoffs, nobody needs more help than the Atlanta Hawks. While you could make a case for the Raptors, the Hawks have also failed far too much for a team with the hype behind them.
Free agency will impact Atlanta hard as well, with star forward Paul Millsap on the market.
At shooting guard, J.J. Redick would be the kind of energy they could utilize with Dennis Schroeder running the point. The two guard is the spot where the Hawks could use a bigger star, as who they have now isn’t cutting it.
Tim Hardaway Jr., Taurean Prince, and DeAndre’ Bembry are the current shooting guards on the Hawks’ depth chart. While Hardaway Jr. matches up fairly well with Redick when looking at the numbers, having better depth should be a priority for the team moving forward.
If they can get the right player at shooting guard, they’ll have stars like Schroeder, Dwight Howard, and Kent Bazemore. They could also have Paul Millsap in the mix, but that’s a big if to bank on so early in the off-season.
