NBA Mock Draft 2017: How the top ten will pan out after the lottery
By Keith Rivas
Coming off of a national championship, former North Carolina forward Justin Jackson will be a good fit with the Kings. Sacramento really needs a better direction, and quality guys such as Jackson can easily be part of that turnaround.
One of their small forwards in Rudy Gay will be on the market in free agency. This means using their tenth overall pick wisely matters that much more.
Sacramento has another pick in the top ten (fifth overall), but they’ll use that to acquire talent higher up on everyone’s draft boards. In his junior season with the Tar Heels, Jackson averaged 18.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game.
Having a title under his belt could help with his maturity at the next level. There’s plenty of differences to point out between the NBA and college ball that get in the way of top talent.
Justin Jackson, at least from what we know leading up to the draft, won’t let that distract him from growing his game.
