Lakers Rumors: Possible trade packages for the second overall pick
By Jason Reed
The Los Angeles Lakers finally got what they wanted – their very own draft pick. However, according to these Lakers rumors, could that very same pick be dealt?
About a month or so ago we took a look at potential trades the Lakers could receive if they were to keep their draft pick. Now, we look at three new scenarios that can take place after the NBA Lottery, all revolving around the Los Angeles Lakers and their second overall selection. It was a blessing that the ping pong balls bounced their way, yet, we may see them trade their pick.
We all know that UCLA guard Lonzo Ball seemingly is going to be the man the Lakers take. Before he even declared, before the Lakers even had their pick, Ball to the Los Angeles Lakers seemed to be a foregone conclusion. Now, with Ball and his Big Baller Brand on the way to the NBA, and with the Lakers having their pick, this pairing seems inevitable.
However, perhaps the Lakers organization does not want to turn to the draft, instead, the organization can turn to the trade market. Admittedly, this is the least likely route the Lakers would take – as the front office seems to be absolutely in love with the playmaking – and marketing – ability of Ball.
However, the option for the Lakers to trade away their pick is definitely on the table. Although unlikely, it is a possibility that we all should be ready for if it were to transpire.
Therefore, using the trade finder within NBA 2K17, here are three potential trade packages the Lakers can receive for the second overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.
