3. Miami Heat

Imagine a front court consisting of Hassan Whiteside and Julius Randle, wouldn’t that be a spectacle? The Miami Heat shocked everyone last year when they pushed for a playoff spot, and although they missed the eighth seed due to a tiebreaker, they far outperformed what was expected of them after Dwayne Wade decided to head to Chicago.

The Heat have a lot of young talent, and could greatly benefit from bringing in Julius Randle. With Josh McRoberts, James Johnson, and Udonis Haslem all potentially leaving the Heat this offseason they will be extremely weak at the power forward spot. In comes Randle, who would fit perfectly alongside the menacing shot blocker in Hassan Whiteside.

With the Heat and Chris Bosh recently reaching an agreement to make him a free agent, the Heat will now have some cap space to play with. This makes a trade for a guy like Randle all the more likely, as there is a lot of room to be filled. Whiteside has a huge ceiling, and it would be a shame if the Heat front office fails to surround him the necessary talent.

Miami does not have many draft picks to give the Lakers, so they likely would have to give up a future second-round pick alongside a young talent. With Goran Dragic still in the fray, we could see the Heat give up promising guard Tyler Johnson, who would give the Lakers even more depth in their already young backcourt.
