The Los Angeles Dodgers have quite the surplus of starting pitching. According to these Dodgers rumors, which arm should be axed from the starting rotation?

The Dodgers pitching staff, well, it has been interesting. Los Angeles seems to either throw complete gems or buckle under the pressure and allow a slugfest. We’ve seen Alex Wood and Julio Urias take deep no-hitters on consecutive nights, and we have seen seven walk games or the infamous nine-run eighth inning against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Despite this, the Dodgers still have managed to have one of, if not the, best pitching staffs in all of baseball. According to FanGraphs, the Dodgers’ pitching staff is first in wins above replacement, first in ERA, and second in WHIP. It is evident that the Dodgers staff is thriving, despite being in third place in the division.

In fact, the Dodgers are merely recipients of some bad luck. Los Angeles has the fifth best record in all of baseball yet is still taking the back seat to both Colorado and Arizona. In fact, Baseball-Reference uses a tool called the Pythagorean winning percentage. This tool calculates what a team’s record should be based on run differential. The Dodgers should have a 30-17 record, better than both Arizona’s and Colorado’s.

So, it is obvious that the Dodgers are playing well, they just have not had the ball rolling in their favor. However, one thing they have in their favor is their surplus of starting pitching. With three viable options, according to these Dodgers rumors, who should the Dodgers cut, of their bottom three, from the starting rotation.
