The latest Lakers rumors have to do with building around Brandon Ingram.

Entering what will be his second season in the league, Brandon Ingram ha a lot to be proud of. After a short time in college, he put himself in the draft and ended up in the perfect situation.

Not because of contention, as the Lakers aren’t there yet. Instead, he’s in a great place with the Lakers because they want him to be the focus.

Magic Johnson said on Thursday that Ingram was the only untouchable guy. That means that players like D’Angelo Russell and Julius Randle definitely are.

How the young core gets shaken up this summer matters for years to come. Los Angeles wants to get back to the top, and that comes with putting their priorities out in the open.

Whether they get these players through trade, free agency, or other means, here’s five players they should go after if Brandon Ingram really is the cornerstone.
