De’Aaron Fox

He’s not in an NBA or Lakers uniform yet, but that won’t be for long. Lonzo Ball is really putting all of his eggs in one basket, and the second it backfires we will all be able to finally breathe.

By not working out for the Celtics but possibly the 76ers, Ball shows that he doesn’t want to be the first pick and is considering insurance options if Los Angeles passes on him.

And they definitely should.

An alternative to the Chino Hills native would be De’Aaron Fox. The fellow former freshman comes from Kentucky, where he proved he belonged in the association.

One key to picking Fox over Ball is their match up in the Sweet 16. Not only did Fox’s Wildcats get the win and advance, but Ball lost badly head to head.

Whatever some people want to blame it on, Fox gave us a glimpse of how he could really be better than the UCLA phenom. Passing is Ball’s best skill, while Fox can do a little of everything.

Letting him be that fifth piece to the puzzle while growing D’Angelo Russell and Brandon Ingram could make the Lakers immediate playoff contenders.
