NBA Free Agency 2017: 15 free agent targets for the Clippers
By Keith Rivas
Paul Millsap
For Paul Millsap, it makes sense to go to a team that’ll want him as their main superstar. After playing with the Atlanta Hawks for awhile, Millsap has decided that this summer will be his chance to test the market.
The 32-year old averaged 18 points and nearly eight rebounds per game last season, with experience in the league also being a major factor.
It’s likely that the Clippers may want to adjust any asking price that Millsap puts on the table. He salaried $20 million last season, and the Clippers have to be sure they get him for the right price.
What this would mean, though, is that the earlier they can sign him the better. This gives the team enough clarity and peace of mind to let Griffin walk and put that time, money, and effort elsewhere in their ventures.
While somewhat sad that things are coming to an end like this in Los Angeles, the better word for it is disappointing. Grabbing Millsap off the market might at least make next season bearable.
