5. Toronto Raptors

The Toronto Raptors are already in a bit of a scramble, as star point guard Kyle Lowry decided to opt out of this last year under contract for the Toronto Raptors. Chances are that Lowry is doing this solely for a longer contract and a big pay-day, looking to cash out like Grizzlies’ point guard Mike Conley did last offseason.

Conley became the seventh highest paid NBA player last season, making over $26 million. Lowry is arguably better than Conley as well, so it is safe to say that the Raptors will open their checkbooks for the star.

However, there is an issue – the Raptors already are paying DeMar DeRozan over $27 million next season. In fact, DeRozan was the third highest paid NBA player last season only behind Al Horford and Lebron James. Regardless, the Raptors will be pursuing Lowry harder than any other free agent this summer.

However, the Raptors are fairly weak behind their superstar duo of Lowry and DeRozan. We all saw how bad they played without Lowry in the playoffs, trying to rely on DeRozan to do everything. The Raptors lack a true, talented guard, to play behind the duo.

That is where Jordan Clarkson comes in. Clarkson would provide a great scoring option behind the superstar duo, adding to the weak Raptors bench. Although it is highly unlikely, Clarkson would be a decent fit on the Toronto Raptors.
