The Los Angeles Lakers have a surplus of young players that will only continue to get better. According to these Lakers rumors, how will each perform next season?

Last season was a step in the right direction for the Los Angeles Lakers. Los Angeles finished the season with a 26-56 record, which on the surface seems bad, but in reality, signals a step improvement. The year prior the Lakers only managed to win 17 games, two years ago 21 games.

This franchise has been on a continual downhill slide ever since father time caught up to Kobe Bryant. The last good season for the Lakers came in 2012-13, in which they went 45-37, good enough for the eighth seed. However, with Bryant getting hurt at the end of the season the Lakers could not put up a fight with just Dwight Howard, getting swept by the Spurs.

Since that woeful Kobe injury, the franchise has seemingly been on a downhill slide. The front office sacrificed their future for their imagined super team of Steve Nash, Kobe, and Howard – not realizing that Nash and Kobe were past their prime and Howard was in the tail end.

We have seen steps from this young Lakers core, steps that can signal big improvement next season. While they may not be a playoff team quite yet, as the team waits for Paul George to be a free agent they will only be better.
