Dodgers Rumors: Most viable All-Star candidates in Los Angeles
By Evan Lovett
Clayton Kershaw
This is a foregone conclusion. The only debate with Kershaw is whether or not he should start the All-Star game, an honor that has somehow escaped the Best Pitcher on the Planet thus far in his sterling career.
This year might be the year – he is leading all National League starters in innings pitched (83), wins (7), SO/BB Ratio (8:1) and is second in WHIP (0.90) and strikeouts (92). As the workhorse of a staff riddled with injuries throughout the rotation, Kershaw is truly the Stopper – the guy the team relies on to plug the holes and break losing streaks.
And that has been the story for Kershaw’s entire career. His trophy case is filled with honors, awards, and accolades – this could be the year where he finally adds the mantle of All-Star game starting pitcher.
