Mike Trout

Mike Trout is the second guy on the DL for the Angels. No matter what happens to Trout he will always be a topic of Angels news.

Trout actually injured himself and had to have surgery. He suffered a torn left thumb ligament since he slid head first into second base last week according to the LA Times.

By sliding head first he is at risk for more severe injuries than if he were to slide feet first. Your body is more exposed when sliding head first, such as your fingers, hands, and face.

Trout is one of the leaders for the Angels, and he leads by example.

Maybe sliding head first wasn’t the best example since he is one of their many hard hitting sluggers. Trout needs to recover properly and to full health before he comes back.

By doing this, then he can assist the team in making a playoff run. Something they haven’t done in three years. Also, by doing this when others are hurt they will want to recover fully before coming back so they don’t hurt themselves again.

Then that way they can help their team 100 percent.
