The latest Lakers rumors report on what Lonzo Ball had to say about his fit in Los Angeles.

For Lonzo Ball, it’s been a lifelong dream to get to possibly play for the Lakers. With the draft not far away, one of the top prospects is hoping to hear his named called second overall.

Should the Lakers pick him, there are pros and cons like every business decision. One of the upsides to Ball will be his passing ability, so long as it translates well at the next level.

Obviously, one of the red flags that may keep other teams away from him is his father, LaVar. That doesn’t seem to be phasing Lonzo, though. He’s made it through plenty of criticism and adversity while still sticking to his guns.

Regardless of how you feel about his father, the kid still deserves some credit.

After the team drafted D’Angelo Russell second overall in 2015, a hope was that he’d develop into a team leader. That has yet to happen, and Lonzo Ball thinks he can be the guy to fill that need.

Los Angeles cannot afford to mess up this summer in the draft. In order to still draw soon-to-be stars and free agents like Paul George, the team needs to offer something they can come to.

The way things are right now, that’s a hard place to try and sell from. Lonzo Ball could help facilitate the offensive if drafted, but they’d have to be sold on him.

Trying to force him to be a leader or make him a superstar in a way that’s not natural won’t be their best avenue. It’s what happening between the team and D’Angelo Russell and they don’t want that again.
