The Los Angeles Lakers had a promising late selection in Ivica Zubac last summer. Now, according to these Lakers draft rumors, what sleeper should the team consider late in round one?

Manu Ginobili, Isaiah Thomas, Draymond Green. All three of those guys have something in common, they are all late draft picks, and are all great players in today’s NBA. Ginobili, who may be entering retirement, is a fifteen year veteran for the San Antonio Spurs. Ginobili most likely will make it into the Hall of Fame as he revolutionized European basketball in the NBA.

Thomas just recently burst onto the scene as one of the best point guards in the league. He led the entire league in fourth quarter scoring last season and has proven that size really does not matter. Thomas was selected with the last selection in the 2011 NBA Draft.

Green is a defensive menace that has shown his flexibility for the Warriors on the basketball court. This has led to two All-Star births, two All-NBA inclusions, two All-Defensive inclusions, and the coveted NBA Championship in 2015. With the Warriors up over the Cavs 3-0, Green is set to win his second world title in only his fifth season.

This is inevitably setting the Lakers up to fail, as we cannot expect the team to knock the 28th overall selection out of the park. However, there always is sleepers available that late for the picking.

With all the focus on the Lakers second overall selection in the draft, let’s switch it up and dive into the Lakers 28th overall selection. Here are three sleeper picks the Los Angeles should consider according to these Lakers draft rumors.
