Nick Young, otherwise known as “Swaggy P”, has become a fan favorite on the Lakers. However, the latest Lakers rumors have spelled out his departure.

Love him or hate him, Nick Young has been an interesting story for the Los Angeles Lakers, and now, finds himself amidst the Lakers rumors. Young was drafted by the Washington Wizards, 16th overall, in the 2007 NBA Draft. With not many minutes played his first three seasons Young was your everyday bench asset, averaging around 20 minutes per game and just under ten points.

Then came the 2010-11 season, which also was the year that John Wall made his debut, and Young had lit up score sheets. Now averaging 31.8 minutes per game, Young posted a then career-high 17.4 points per game.

Then in the span of the next three seasons, Nick Young played for three different clubs. First, Young was dealt to the Los Angeles Clippers. Then, Young signed a one-year deal with the 76ers for the 2012-13 season. Finally, Young had signed another one-year deal with the Lakers.

That is when the Swaggy P we know and love today grew in Los Angeles. His first season as a Laker saw young set a new career best in scoring, averaging 17.9 points per game, backed by shooting 38.6% from beyond the arc. This earned Young a four-year contract, with a player option for the 2017-18 season.

Now, it seems more likely than not that Young will exercise his option and opt to test the free agent market. If Young were to do so, here are three free agents the Lakers could bring in to replace him.
