3. De’Aaron Fox

Chance of being drafted by LA: 25%

De’Aaron Fox has slowly risen up the NBA Draft big boards, and now, could see himself going second overall to the Los Angeles Lakers. Fox, playing alongside fellow draft commit Malik Monk, provided one of the best backcourts in all of college basketball last season for Kentucky. Fox showcased freakish athleticism and the ability to take over games.

In what was biggest statement of the year, Fox dropped 39 points against UCLA in the third round of the NCAA Tournament. Fox shot 65% from the field, also going 13-15 at the free throw line. Fox, playing against one of the best prospects in this draft class, was out to make a statement. It is safe to say he did just that.

Fox recently worked out with the Lakers, showing that the organization is interested in his game. Although many slate him to go fifth overall to the Sacramento Kings, the questions marks surrounding the other players in this draft could force the Lakers hand.

However, the biggest problem with Fox is his role on this team. The Lakers already have a score first point guard in D’Angelo Russell, so bringing in Fox would just cause a logjam. If the Lakers were to move Russell over to the two guard they need to bring in a distributor, not another scorer.

Fox definitely is a sensational talent and is a great player to join fellow Kentucky alumni Julius Randle. However, he just does not seem to be a fit.
