2. Lonzo Ball

Chance of being drafted by LA: 60%

People are very torn on Lonzo Ball, that is an understatement. Some Laker fans seem to love him, agreeing with his father in saying that he is the playmaker to turn the Lakers around. Others, well, they cannot handle the headache that his father causes; completely ignoring any on the court features of Ball.

Personally, I agree that Lonzo Ball is the best thing for the Lakers. The Lakers have three young guys that are trying to develop by scoring the basketball. Bringing in another scorer will only slow down the process. If it is a guy like Markelle Fultz, who can lead by scoring, that is one thing. If it is just another spoke on the wheel, well, what are they really accomplishing then?

However, despite Ball’s playmaking ability being the best suited for the Lakers, I do not think that he is the most likely to get drafted. Ball’s name has been in the media before he even declared for the draft, often times being in a negative light. The Lakers don’t need to draft a point guard as they could always just keep Russell at the point.

Because of this, the Lakers may be leaning on the other side of the fence. They were reportedly unhappy with the lack of conditioning Ball had, which is only driving the stake further into the ground.

Lonzo Ball may be the best bet for the Lakers on the court, but off the court factors may keep him out of LA.
