No. 21

The first jersey number that Paul George could consider is the number 21. There have been 17 players in Lakers history that have worn the number, most recently by Ronnie Turiaf.

One of the reasons that 21 would be fitting for Paul is that it’s a number he can make all his own. Already leaving his mark with 24 and 13, playing in Los Angeles gives him a chance to reset his legacy as a player, in a way.

Giving him a number in the low-20’s is also good because it’s a number that seems like it would fit him.

Ironically, another player the Lakers have been rumored to be interested in is Jimmy Butler of the Chicago Bulls. He also wears the number 21.

It’s one of the numbers that’s not retired, and George could end up wanting to go back to the 20’s.

21 is a fresh look in a Lakers jersey that fans probably won’t be able to get enough of. Other names associated with number 21 include Kareem Rush, Josh Powell, and Ruben Patterson, to name a few.
