No. 12

The last special Lakers player to don the 12 jersey was quite possibly Shannon Brown. George could end up with this number if he wants the transition to be simple, as it’s just one down from 13.

It wouldn’t be too shocking, as long as the poor play from Dwight Howard while in LA doesn’t stick with the number (obviously won’t). I’d like this number for him out of the ones discussed in the article, but it’s way too early to really tell.

We asked Liz Habib of Fox Los Angeles about her thoughts.

Based on her tweet, she believes that 21 would be the best number for Paul George in Los Angeles. Habib didn’t reply when asked further for why this was her pick, but we ran a poll and asked the fans.

It’ll be interesting to see what George decides to do with his jersey number should he become a part of the Lakers. Being his hometown team, it’s safe to expect that he’ll want to make it a number that’s sentimental to him.
