The D’Angelo Russell trade was the first major move of this off-season.

Coming right before the NBA Draft, the D’Angelo Russell trade will completely change the Los Angeles Lakers. After being picked second overall in 2015, the former Buckeye’s tenure with the team didn’t last long.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Los Angeles will also ship Timofey Mozgov to Brooklyn. In return, the Lakers will receive Brook Lopez and the 27th overall pick.

Questions remain about the legitimacy of a deal like this. Russell was one of the stars of the team, with a promising first few years in the league. As for Mozgov, he was anything but helpful and only weighed them down in terms of cap space.

Now, though, the team has their eyes set on Paul George and Jimmy Butler. As of writing this story, no deal has been put into place for either of those stars.

But that doesn’t mean the Lakers aren’t trying and that they’re done for the day.

Here’s three things worth knowing about the D’Angelo Russell to Brooklyn deal.
