1. OF Alex Verdugo (MLB Pipeline: 2)

If you don’t already know who Alex Verdugo is, you may want to get yourself familiar with him as he will soon be lighting up the scoresheets in Chavez Ravine. Well, that is if the Dodgers do not use him as a trade chip to bring in an elite level pitcher.

More from Los Angeles Dodgers

The fact of the matter is that the Dodgers outfield is extremely crowded. Right now, Chris Taylor, Joc Pederson, Yasiel Puig, Enrique Hernandez, and Franklin Gutierrez all make up the outfield. When Adrian Gonzalez returns from the DL Bellinger will likely move back to left, and that is still with Andrew Toles and Andre Ethier out with injury.

Los Angeles has a lot of outfielders, and what they want is an elite second starter for a World Series push. Because of their depth, and Verdugo’s value, this could lead to him being dealt.

However, let’s not assume that Verdugo will be dealt, let’s instead get excited for what he can bring to the Dodgers. Verdugo is one of the pure hitters in all of minor league baseball, evident by his .340 batting average. Verdugo isn’t a huge power hitter, with his ceiling perhaps at 15 homers, instead, he is a lead-off caliber player that can square up the baseball.

Despite only being 21 years of age, Verdugo is easily the most big league ready out of the bunch. If the Dodgers weren’t so crowded in the outfield, he probably would have been called up by now.

Next: Dodgers that could get dealt at the trade deadline

Overall, fans of the Los Angeles Dodgers have a lot to get excited for in the future. With Corey Seager and Cody Bellinger already electrifying the bigs, we should expect much more in the coming years.
