Lakers Rumors: Predicting each Rookies’ stat-line next season
By Jason Reed
The inevitable finally came to fruition; the Los Angeles Lakers drafted Lonzo Ball. Now, after a hectic few days, what do the latest Lakers rumors entail?
Lonzo Ball was a Laker before he even declared for the 2017 NBA Draft. Despite the Lakers potentially not having their draft pick, despite there being a chance that he could be drafted number one overall, despite his outlandish father; it happened. Ball’s name was called by commissioner Adam Silver to be the latest member of a young Lakers core.
After the Lakers dealt D’Angelo Russell to the Brooklyn Nets this selection seemed inevitable. With the Lakers narrowing their choices down to Josh Jackson and Ball, the playmaking point guard was the obvious choice. Now, Ball finds himself in LA, the only market that can hold his star power outside of the city of New York.
However, Lonzo Ball was not the only named called for the Los Angeles Lakers on June 22. Los Angeles sneakily had one of the best drafts in the league, bringing in two front court talents alongside a sleeper pick in Josh Hart.
Hart, who was the last selection of the first round, has a very good chance of being the biggest sleeper in this year’s class. With dynamic shooting and scoring, we may see Hart develop nicely alongside Lonzo Ball.
As for the big man tandem of Kyle Kuzma and Thomas Bryant, they both can develop into significant role players in the NBA. Only time will tell us what the limit is for these two.
It is apparent; the Lakers had a good draft. However, how exactly will that draft translate onto the court? According to the latest Lakers rumors, let’s predict each of these rookies’ stat-lines for next season.
