The Dodgers and Angels finally meet on Monday, but both teams enter the annual Freeway Series on different terms.

Los Angeles has two MLB teams. The Dodgers play at Chavez Ravine, and the Angels are in Anaheim. Every season these two meet in the coveted Freeway Series.

The city is filled with vast opportunity and rich possibilities. Its landscape is a perfect way to paint a depicted picture about what’s going in terms of its baseball climate.

The Dodgers are 51-26 (1st in NL West), and the Angels are 40-39 (2nd in AL West). The records indicate that the two teams are different, but they’re current situations are equally intriguing.

When comparing and contrasting both clubs, perception might ruin the outlook on evaluation. The Dodgers are one of the hottest teams in the MLB because of they’re recent 16 wins in 17 games. They’ve hit at least one HR in each of those games, and are really rolling into July.

The hoopla doesn’t end when it comes to team statistics. They’re winning 75% of games at home, 35-7 when scoring first and 41-3 when leading in the 7th. It’s safe to say the Dodgers are more dominant, but LA’s other team is playing well too.

More from Los Angeles Angels

The Angels established a nice groove early on, but their superstar got injured after an unorthodox play in Miami. Mike Trout was placed on the DL after surgery and things seemed unfortunate, but Mike Scioscia’s team is still battling.

Anaheim’s team has impressed lately by winning recent series matchups at the Yankees and Red Sox. This team is still alive and is figuring out ways to keep up in the Wild Card standings.

A monkey was taken off their backs once Albert Pujols reached the monumental 600 HR. That was weeks ago, and the Angels are quietly rising in power rankings.

The differences are quite compelling. The Dodgers are more appealing, and their external characteristics are why the team is highly favored. They’re loaded with firepower and seem destined to make a run at the World Series this year. However, the Angels are on a path to gain respect rather than tabloid headlines.

This series isn’t being talked about much, but it will be interesting. Both teams are looking to keep their momentum alive, and neither can afford to slip up against each other.
