One of the first NBA Awards 2017 went to Brandon Ingram, who received All-Rookie honors.

The talk of the town should be the NBA Awards 2017, especially in Los Angeles. Rookie Brandon Ingram received the honor of being named to the All-Rookie second team.

For the team, this news comes after an interesting week full of draft excitement and bold trade moves. D’Angelo Russell and Timofey Mozgov have been shipped to Brooklyn, while Los Angeles gained a center and a draft pick in the process.

Now the question is what guys like Brandon Ingram will do with their new point guard Lonzo Ball.

This comes as one of the first of what the team hopes are many accomplishments by Ingram.

Per a CBS Sports report:

"In his rookie season, the former second overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft was selected to play in the Rising Stars Challenge at the NBA All-Star game and finished eighth among rookies in points scored. This is the third season in a row where a Laker was named to an All-Rookie team, and Ingram is the fifth Laker in team history to be honored with Second Team honors."

Ingram has a chance to be one of the most productive young guys in Los Angeles. Depending on how Ball and the rest of the incoming rookies perform, Ingram will likely be tasked with leading the way.

And we all know how the Lakers feel about leadership.

Eventually, Magic Johnson seems to want Ball to have the reigns. In the meanwhile, at least while the former UCLA guard gets his feet wet, the team needs Ingram at his best.
