PG. George Hill

Despite heading into his age 31 season, George Hill is still a great scoring point guard. Perhaps with intents of taking fewer minutes, Hill may find himself on a young team like the Lakers to help guide the way to success. With Lonzo Ball being a pass-first point guard, the Lakers are going to need a scoring option off of the bench, and that is exactly what Hill is.

Last season Hill put together his best scoring marks in his career, averaging 16.9 points per game. While not superstar numbers by any stretch of the imagination, his near 17 points per game is impressive in 31.5 minutes played. With Ball likely averaging in the low-teens, bringing in a guy that can score 15 off the bench would be huge for Los Angeles.

Plus, this could be the first signing to help bring in future superstars. Hill played alongside Paul George in Indiana, and bringing in a familiar face could tempt George even further to join LA. The Lakers are going to need a productive leader that can give them credibility once more – George Hill would provide just that.

However, there may be a catch. Hill made eight million dollars last season in Utah. Coming off arguably the best year in his career, Hill may be looking for a pay raise. With Utah owning Bird Rights they could be willing to pay that pretty penny, practically ruling the Lakers out of signing him. Yet, if they can reach a reasonable agreement, Hill would be the perfect mentor for Ball.
