Chris Paul traded to Houston Rockets for several players and pick

With Chris Paul traded, the Clippers accept the fact that Lob City is over.
Given that the Chris Paul trade is better than losing him for nothing, Los Angeles will have their work cut out for them. Paul will join James Harden and company in an attempt to get a ring.
The Rockets were good last year, but not good enough to defeat San Antonio. Losing in the second round, the Rockets needed a little more than just Harden to finish the job.
Adrian Wojnarowski, who also broke news about the D’Angelo Russell trade, tweeted the report on Wednesday morning.
It was already not looking great for the Clippers when both Paul and Griffin opted out of their deals. Now they’ll have to wait and see what happens with the big man.
Suitors for him outside of Los Angeles include Oklahoma City and Boston. The Lakers have also been rumored, but nothing has come of that chase yet.
It is the second time we’ve seen Chris Paul traded in his career. First was from the New Orleans Hornets to the Clippers, and now he’ll head to Texas.
Los Angeles didn’t get a bad return on this trade — that’s the surprising part. Finding a team that would’ve given them enough value for Chris Paul wasn’t going to be an easy thing to negotiate.
However, the Clippers now have a lot to work with. In addition to recently drafting guard Sindarius Thornwell, they’ll have Lou Williams and Patrick Beverly.
Williams is an elite sixth man, while Beverly is known for his incredible defense. The Clippers will also get a 2018 pick and forward Sam Dekker in the deal.

This trade is only waiting on Chris Paul to opt into a contract, meaning it is a sign and trade transaction.
