PG. Kyle Lowry

The Clippers could attempt to fill the new hole at point guard with another star in Kyle Lowry. Granted, the team does now have Patrick Beverley to start and Austin Rivers off the bench, but the team would benefit greatly from a star like Lowry. Lowry is a completely different player than Paul, possibly alluding that Lowry is a better fit in Los Angeles.

Paul is one of the best natural point guards in the league, I will not take that away from him. His veteran leadership and distribution skills are what the point guard position is made for. Paul is a pass-first, score-second guard.  Lowry, on the other hand, is a score-first guard.

While Paul definitely has the ability to score, he does not score at the same clip as Lowry. In his career, Paul has only averaged more than 20 points per game twice; back in 2008 and 2009. Lowry, on the other hand, has averaged more than 20 per game the last two seasons while also giving the Raptors around seven assists per game.

Chances are that Kyle Lowry may resign with the Toronto Raptors for more money. However, if he does not think the Raptors are capable of a ring, he may go elsewhere. While it is hard to compete in today’s NBA with the top-heavy talent in the league, the best opportunity may be in Los Angeles. Alongside Griffin and Jordan, Lowry would be a great fit.
