3. Miami Heat

Another great fit for Blake Griffin would be in South Beach, playing alongside a great young core. Despite practically being dismantled after the big three left Miami, the Heat have done well with the young talents they had. Miami just barely missed the postseason last season, and with a young core, they will continue to only get better.

Hassan Whiteside is easily the leader of this young core. The seven-foot center is a great scoring, a menacing shot blocker, and a terrific rebounder. Last season Whiteside averaged 17.0 points, 14.1 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game.

Whiteside is not alone in Miami either. Goran Dragic and Tyler Johnson provide a dynamic one-two punch at point guard, and Justise Winslow has an immensely high ceiling. Miami already added depth to their front court in the draft with Bam Adebayo. Blake Griffin could be that perfect final touch.

Imagine a front court consisting of both Griffin and Whiteside. This would prove to be one of the meanest, gnarliest frontcourts in all of basketball. While their scoring may not match a team like the Golden State Warriors, their play down low could. The Miami Heat would measure up against any team down low, giving them an edge over their competition.

Lee Jenkins, the same man who wrote LeBron’s homecoming piece to Cleveland, predicted that Griffin would head to the Miami Heat. While a prediction doesn’t have any inside information, it does give this idea further legs to run with.
