The Los Angeles Dodgers have turned their season around after a slow April. Now, at the halfway mark, what grades do the Dodgers deserve?

The Los Angeles Dodgers reached the halfway point of their season last night with a win that typified the Dodgers season – three home runs, a Clayton Kershaw win and a Kenley Jansen save. With a 53-28 record, the Dodgers have relied on a Kershaw, a stout bullpen, positional depth and power throughout the lineup to achieve the best record in the National League.

On pace for 106 wins, which would be a franchise record, the Dodgers’ .654 winning percentage is good for sixth in the history of the organization, going back to the Brooklyn Bridegrooms. Though the Arizona Diamondbacks (2.5 games back) and Colorado Rockies (6 GB) are playing competitive baseball, manager Dave Roberts has masterfully guided the Dodgers season despite having the second most games missed due to disabled list appearances this season.

Though the club is not on track to have any starters in the All-Star game, there are a bevy of candidates up and down the roster. There are still holes that need to be plugged by the front office prior to the pennant chase – ahem, reliable Number Two starter – but all told, the club is functioning at a very high level.

So what type of grades would be on the Los Angeles Dodgers’ first-half report card? Let’s take a look at the breakdown by position.
