The latest NBA Free Agency rumors have a lot to say about Rajon Rondo.

Ending up in Los Angeles is usually a great thing for players in the NBA. Either playing for the Lakers or Clippers, players get a chance at making the most of performing in one of the best and biggest markets out there.

One of the more intriguing names out there on the market right now is point guard Rajon Rondo. After helping Chicago get into the postseason as the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference, they nearly stormed the Celtics off in the first round.

When Rondo went down with an injury, so did that dream. Now in search of a new team, Rondo could end up in the reunion phase. It’s a part of his career that has him near the end, but who knows what next season holds.

Doc Rivers was his old coach when both were part of the Boston Celtics. As a tandem, they helped the Celtics get a ring in 2008 but haven’t won a ring since then.

Los Angeles is coming off another disappointing season. Falling short has become too much of a norm for them, and they’re ready to get over themselves.

In order to help get that part of their past out of the way, it may be best for the Clippers to sign Rondo. Even if it’s a short term deal, it gives them something concrete to work with.

After winning it all with Boston, the veteran guard has played for Dallas, Sacramento, and Chicago. None of which have worked out well for him, but there’s always chance for a turnaround.

For this one, though, we’ll just have to play it by ear. This free agency season has proven to be one thing above all else so far — unpredictable.

A final reason that the Rondo signing would be good is that they need some relief after losing Chris Paul. It doesn’t matter what team you are, losing a player of his caliber takes a serious toll.

Patrick Beverley and Lou Williams will carry a lot of the weight as guards, but they shouldn’t bare it alone. Rondo has been in this position before, so being that x-factor isn’t new to him.

Plus, playing under Doc Rivers again may give him that old spark we haven’t seen lately. It would absolutely keep Los Angeles as a threat in the conference as well as remind us that getting rid of Chris Paul might have been for the better.
