With Gordon Hayward heading to the Boston Celtics, it may be time for the Jazz to look to the future. Los Angles would obviously prefer to bring in expiring contracts for Clarkson, making this deal a win-win for both Utah and Los Angeles. Favors and Hood would make the Lakers better now, with Clarkson and Nance making the Jazz better in the future.

The Lakers plan for Ball is obvious, they want to surround him with as many weapons as they can to pad his stat line. This will not only help his progression but help bait in future free agents alongside George. Bringing in Favors and Hood would do just that, and quite frankly, I think this Lakers team would become playoff-worthy.

Favors is the master of the pick and roll and would give Ball the perfect option off the screen. Now, the Lakers have Ingram, Hood, and Lopez that Ball could kick it out to on the three-point line and Favors down low rolling off the screen. Hood would not be much of a downgrade from Clarkson, if any, and would be a great option alongside Ball in the backcourt.

Sure, the Lakers are giving up young talent and a future pick, but none of that is part of their plan anyways. Clarkson has always seemed like the odd man out and the Lakers brought in Kyle Kuzma in the draft, potentially signaling a replacement for either Nance or Randle.

This deal is perfect, it gives Ball the weapons he needs and adds incredible depth. Having a tandem of Favors and Randle at power forward would be deadly.
