LAS VEGAS, NV – JULY 07: Lonzo Ball – Lakers Rumors /

These are exciting times to be a fan of the Los Angeles Lakers. All this excitement is stemming from the latest Lakers rumors.

Yesterday we saw Lonzo Ball play his first game as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. If you failed to see what Ball did (or didn’t) do, you can read up on it here. However, regardless of your takeaway on Ball’s performance in his first game of the NBA Summer League, you cannot deny that as a fan this is an exciting time for the Lakers.

First and foremost, the team is bringing in a kid that has been highly touted not only by his dad but by NBA analysts as well. While his dad’s comparison to Magic Johnson may be a tad far-fetched, many smart people are saying that Ball fits the mold of a Jason Kidd caliber player. If the Lakers can get anywhere close to Kidd production it would be huge.

Surrounded by a young core, highlighted by Julius Randle and Brandon Ingram, it is hard to not get excited about what this Lakers team can turn into. Plus, the speculation that Paul George, or even LeBron James, could possibly come to the Lakers is accelerating this excitement.

However, before the team crosses that path, they need to look to the immediate future. Los Angeles is fairly thin at guard, lacking any real bench depth. Rightfully so, this has emerged Lakers rumors of the team’s latest targets.

Therefore, taking into consideration the talk that has been produced around the league, let’s rank how well each of these targets would fit in Los Angeles.
