Despite recently being traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Paul George is still a constant discussion within the latest Lakers rumors.

Paul George will be a Laker, it is inevitable. As a member of the Indiana Pacers, George was tied more to the Lakers than he was the Pacers themselves. Then, George made his intentions clear to the Pacers; he was not going to resign with the team and his preferred destination was the Los Angeles Lakers.

Yet, in typical petty sports team fashion, the Pacers practically refused to give George what he wanted. Knowing that he wanted to go to the Lakers, Indiana was stubbornly refusing to trade the star forward to the Lakers unless they got an extreme return in exchange.

Normally this is understandable as Pacers knew that the Lakers may be desperate enough to overpay for George. However, considering that the return they received from the Thunder wasn’t the greatest, it makes the Pacers logic seem nothing but childish. They could have brought in Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson with some picks.

Now the Lakers must await their future superstar while he plays alongside Russell Westbrook. While assuming that George is definitely coming to LA may cause disappointment, this seems as sure as the Lakers drafting Lonzo Ball.

However, George alone won’t be a big enough addition to this young core to dethrone the best teams the NBA has to offer. Los Angeles will have to bring in more superstars to succeed in today’s NBA. Therefore, according to the latest Lakers rumors, what other stars may Los Angeles bring in?
