The Lakers are finally heading in the right direction, thanks to their dynamic duo in the front office.

Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka are a potent tandem – one that’s generating a Lakers pulse heard around the world.

Teams that finished the previous season with 26 wins shouldn’t be feeling good in July, unless they’re a legendary franchise.

It never rains in Southern California, but the feeling around the organization was consistently muggy and unpleasant. The last four years determined that a drastic makeover was necessary, and that’s currently the theme at this point in time.

Things are truly changing for Laker Nation, and it’s about damn time.

A new  facility is ready. All summer league games sold out in Las Vegas. The off-season acquisitions are turning doubt into optimism. The vision from management’s systematic approach is contagious.

The culture has improved from a methodical standpoint, and the urgency to perform at a high level is remarkably stunning. Expect to see a better product take the floor in purple and gold during the 2017-18 season.

It may not seem realistic right now, but the Lakers will definitely be in a better situation next year.

Who would have guessed that the Lakers would end up with Lonzo Ball, Brook Lopez and recently acquired SG Kentavious Caldwell-Pope on the roster a year ago?

Put check marks in columns related to needs for improvement – such as leadership, shooting and defense. They’ll fit right in, and help the team compete in a difficult Western Conference on a nightly basis.

It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog. The Lakers aren’t an elite team yet, but their sustainability is building something special.

Many might oppose the non-lucrative moves being made, but wins will bring the bandwagon back sooner than later. Patience is administering the path for a purpose.
