5. Cody Bellinger’s debut – April 25 vs. San Francisco Giants

This one is sort of cheating as Bellinger didn’t do much in his actual MLB debut. In the game itself Bellinger merely went one for three with a rudimentary single. However, it is the causation that occurred after this debut that lands it a spot on the top ten. Bellinger has been the catalyst for the Los Angeles Dodgers, as with him they have become the best team in the MLB.

While not all the praise should go to Bellinger, he definitely deserves a lot of credit. This isn’t one of those cases where they have been good since his call-up just based a coincidence, Bellinger has actually played fantastic and has sparked this Dodgers clubhouse. Los Angeles is 52-18 since Bellinger’s debut.

The young slugger has been nothing but fantastic. While he did cool off a bit to end the first half, Bellinger came into the All-Star break with 25 home runs, 58 RBIs and a .261 batting average. Keep in mind that Bellinger also missed almost an entire month of the season.

Bellinger could easily hit the 40 home runs mark and may surpass the 100 RBI mark. While his second half likely won’t be as insane as his debut, his thunderous bat it definitely capable of 15 more home runs.

There is no doubt that Bellinger is on track for the NL Rookie of the Year, and will create a Trout-Harper power rivalry with Yankees rookie Aaron Judge.
