Closing Thoughts

It’ll be good closure for a team that doesn’t have much else right now. At best, they’re in a state of limbo — that is, until we know more about how Lonzo Ball fits in.

Some think he’ll come into the regular season and tear it up. But there’s always a chance that the rookie sensation could have the pressure get to him.

It happens, though. He’s human too.

As for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, he’ll have to find a way to make it work in Los Angeles. The skill set is definitely there, and he’s not too deep in his NBA career to necessarily be on the back end of it (like Dwayne Wade).

As long as Caldwell-Pope doesn’t let his numbers dip, things will be fine. Ball can pass extremely well, and the feeling is that the elite passing ability that he presents will get the Lakers back on track.

Next: Expectations For Each Lakers Rookie

Questions remain about any future moves in free agency this summer, but there’s no doubt this was a power move to demonstrate something to Paul George.
