Paul George

This one is kind of cheating, I know. However, there has been so much talk surrounding Paul George and the Los Angeles Lakers and nobody has wondered how the Lakers would deal with Brandon Ingram. It seems that fans don’t want to give up Ingram, due to his star potential, but would be okay with him getting limited minutes behind George.

Quite frankly, that logic makes no sense. Personally, if I was the Lakers, I would try to part ways with Ingram to bring in another superstar if I knew for certain that George was coming. Ingram does have the potential to be a superstar yes, but if the Lakers can bring in an established star in an area of need instead it would benefit the club much more.

Realistically though the Lakers are going to hold onto Ingram no matter what it takes, even if they bring in Paul George. However, instead of moving Ingram to the bench and hindering his development, Luke Walton would be much better off moving George to the two guard.

Bear in mind that George did play shooting guard during the first two years of his NBA career. His numbers weren’t the best back then, but there is no reason to think that George cannot handle the two.

With great shooting metrics, George can easily handle the two guard. George can dominate the shooting guard position, especially in today’s NBA where the position is so thin. It may be unorthodox and not be what a casual fan would expect, but moving George to the two guard does make some sense.
