With the plethora of Lakers rumors this offseason, the team has undergone some big changes. How will those changes translate into the virtual world of NBA 2K18?

Man, NBA 2K. Never has there been a sports game that can be so fun yet so aggravating at the same time (Wait, maybe FIFA). One minute you think you are the Michael Jordan of 2K, beating your brother by 40 points in five-minute quarters. Next thing you know, you take your newly created MyPlayer to MyPark only to get dropped by an Ankle Breaker badge.

Despite its downfalls of having terrible servers and requiring you to open your wallet to purchase VC, 2K is pretty fun. Any basketball fan has gotten together with a group of his buddies to have their own version of a 2K tournament, sometimes leading to broken friendships, especially if somebody uses the Golden State Warriors.

One team that may be frustrating to use as of late is the Los Angeles Lakers. 2K17 was the first installment without Kobe Bryant, causing Laker fans to go back and use the three-peat Lakers with Kobe and Shaq. Let’s face it, the Lakers did not have talented players on their roster to use, and although they are young and have promise, that did not translate to ratings.

However, the team has undergone some serious changes in this offseason, leading to an almost entirely new look for 2K18. The young players will get better, and with some key additions, the Lakers may be fun to use again.

With that being said, using past trends as an example, let’s take a look at what each Lakers’ player’s rating may be in NBA 2K.
