The latest Lakers rumors have to do with the new Nike created jerseys this season.

Anticipation for what next season is like is already through the roof. Plenty of action from free agency and trade action that nobody knows what to really expect.

One of the big changes coming to the court has nothing to do with a player contract or a swap. Instead, it has to do with what the players will be wearing on the court.

In an Instagram post shared by an article via USA TODAY, designer Brian Begley put together potential new looks for every NBA team. His concept version of the Lakers uniforms has a return to the light blue and a black jersey without sleeves in mind.

Further, as this article from NBA.com explains, there will no longer be a designated home and away jersey. Instead, there will be editions, and teams will get to pick which jerseys they wear at home.

While the designs on Instagram are not Nike or NBA official, they do offer some insight as to how the league can really win with a makeover. Even though there weren’t many changes to the Lakers, teams like the Heat, Rockets, and Hawks saw a lot of changes that were for the better.

It’ll be fitting to see the Lakers thrive in new threads. A new team in town, and the same mission in mind, too. Confidence is key for them to win big next season, and what players wear absolutely has an effect on that.

Nike seems to be more open to player commentary and feedback than Adidas.

While I’m not sure how I personally feel about the light blue, as I prefer the dark blue and cursive jersey as an alternate, it’s a switch that might work out in the end. Nothing was going to change the purple, gold, and white options. That much was obvious.

But this could be an opportunity for the Lakers to go with another jersey outside of gold. So if for whatever reason they wanted to go with purple or white or even blue as their home color, they could.
