Lakers Rumors: Ranking how likely each Cav superstar is to head to LA
By Jason Reed
Although Kevin Love does have a higher chance than Irving to land on the Lakers, I still would not give the power forward a good chance to wear the purple and gold, at least not yet. On paper, Kevin Love to the Lakers makes a lot of sense. This would serve as his Los Angeles homecoming and would give the Lakers a perfect secondary star behind Paul George.
We all know that Paul George wants there to be more talent other than himself in Los Angeles, however, I would not be surprised if George felt slighted if he wasn’t the number one star. Playing alongside Russell Westbrook will test his patience this year, which in result could change his sentiment on playing alongside a star as big as his.
Los Angeles has the tools in their arsenal to pull this deal off as well. The team could send Clarkson, Randle, Luol Deng, Larry Nance Jr and future first round picks for Love and Channing Frye. Cleveland would get young pieces to build with and the Lakers would get that secondary star, it is a win-win.
However, despite all of the chatter surrounding the Cavaliers, there hasn’t been much mention of Love. LeBron James may want to stick it out one more season, bringing in another star to play alongside him and Love.
However, there is a chance that James may not want to stay in Cleveland. If so, Love will be dealt, but he won’t be traded to Los Angeles before another man is.
