The latest Lakers rumors perfectly details the direction of the franchise. Therefore, what super teams can Magic Johnson put together in LA?

I think it is safe to say that Laker fans are getting complacent with the team’s recent performance. For a franchise that had only missed the playoffs five times from 1948 to 2013 it is understandable why missing four consecutive playoffs has been a shocker not only to the fans but to the organization itself. This has caused a surplus of Lakers rumors.

In a way, you can blame the Lakers directly for their downfall. The franchise was all in on Kobe Bryant. While Bryant is a legend of the sport and easily will go down in the top five, if not top three, of all time the Lakers messed up in handling him. Los Angeles seemingly had no plan for the post-Kobe era in LA, thus, the team fell to mediocrity as Father Time caught up to the Black Mamba.

Now, we are in a state where the most prestigious franchise in basketball is desperately searching for their next superstar. Rob Pelinka said himself, the organization wants to bring in at least one superstar, if not two, to return the franchise to glory. This has been telegraphed for months, especially considering all of the Lakers rumors that have been circling.

However, the team has more than just one route to success. There are so many viable stars in today’s NBA that would benefit from joining such a huge market in LA. Therefore, with all things considered, let’s take a look at three different super teams the Lakers can construct.
