Lakers Rumors: Three different super teams the Lakers can construct
By Jason Reed
This team would be a bit tricky to construct, but on paper, could be one of the best teams in all of the NBA. Luckily for Los Angeles, they already have one of three puzzle pieces for this deal; Lonzo Ball. Ball seems to be a great player in the making, and while he won’t be the triple-double machine he was in the Summer League, Ball can easily flirt with ten assists per game as early as 2017.
Bringing in Kevin Love and Russell Westbrook is where this gets tricky. After Kyrie Irving’s latest comments, and LeBron seemingly inevitable departure, Cleveland may be starting from ground zero next offseason. This leaves Love, who the team could likely get a significant return for in the trade market.
Los Angeles could send a package consisting of Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle, along with a future pick, in exchange for Love. Cleveland would receive two young studs and the Lakers get their hometown player.
Now, Russell Westbrook is a bit trickier. If Los Angeles deals Clarkson and Randle their only trade bait left would be Brandon Ingram, who is untouchable. However, if Paul George is leaving OKC, Westbrook may opt out with his player option; seeking to join Love in LA.
This team would be interesting, but it would take everything to fall in place for the Lakers. Hence why this team is the least likely of the three.
