The latest Lakers rumors are about why Kyle Kuzma could blow through the glass ceiling in his rookie campaign.

Everyone seems to want to know one thing about the Lakers, and that usually has to do with Lozno Ball. It’s hard to blame them in doing that, especially when you consider the story line that the Chino Hills native has gone through to get to this point.

However, despite an incredible Summer League performance — one you could argue was better or at least as good as Lonzo Ball’s — nobody seems to realize that the rookie year could be sensational for Kyle Kuzma. Los Angeles was able to pick him up as a result of the D’Angelo Russell trade, and it’s paid off tremendously.

Kuzma will play alongside Julius Randle and Larry Nance Jr. as a power forward. Nance Jr. has been okay in his career, but to argue a starting position for him now is hard to do. As for Julius Randle, there’s been more underwhelming moments than anything else.

The former Wildcat is expected to have a breakout season in Los Angeles. If that doesn’t happen quick enough, though, why wait on making a move that’ll happen anyway?

These Lakers aren’t messing around, with the goal being the postseason at the end of the regular season. They’ve definitely got more pieces to work with, and a completely new team compared to just a season ago.

With that in mind, here are three reasons Kyle Kuzma, not Lonzo Ball, could be the Lakers’ best rookie.
