3. Trevor Ariza

One guy that may be on the Lakers’ is a former member of the purple and gold himself Trevor Ariza. Ariza played for the Lakers from November of 2007 to the end of the 2008-2009 season that saw him win the NBA Championship. Ariza played a pivotal role in that championship team, as he averaged 8.9 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game off of the bench.

Despite winning the Championship with the Lakers Ariza left the organization in favor of a five-year, $33 million dollar deal with the Houston Rockets. Ariza’s tenure in Houston didn’t last long though, as following his first season with the Rockets he was traded to the New Orleans Hornets; the team he called home for two seasons.

Then, after two years in New Orleans and then one year in Washington D.C. with the Wizards, Ariza signed yet another contract with the Houston Rockets after returning via trade.

Now, with one season left on his contract, Ariza would be the perfect salary dump for the Lakers. Los Angeles would effectively be getting rid of the $37 million they owe Clarkson over the next three seasons for just under $10 million this season.

Los Angeles then gets another veteran player that can help mentor Brandon Ingram and the Rockets get another viable guard to get minutes behind Chris Paul and James Harden. Oh, and I forgot to mention, Ariza’s agent is not the Lakers General Manager Rob Pelinka; how that works, I am not too sure.
