Los Angeles Dodgers: Ranking the greatest teams of all-time

The Los Angeles Dodgers truly are having a very special 2017. How exactly does this season stack against the greatest Dodger teams of old?

At this point in the season the 2017 Los Angeles Dodgers have won 70 percent of their games, they’re so far ahead in the National League West it’s a fait accompli that they will win the division for the fifth year in a row.  What happens in October will determine where this year’s Dodger team ranks among the greats in franchise history.

For the purposes of this list, we’ll have to leave out the Brooklyn Dodgers teams.  It would be unfair since we would never know how past LA Dodgers teams would have hit or pitched in the band box that was Brooklyn’s Ebbets Field.  Also, some early great Dodgers teams came before the integration of baseball when it wasn’t a level playing field and therefore unfair to compare today’s team to then.

A championship is the ultimate prize in baseball but that won’t be the deciding factor for this list so there may be some title teams left out sorry 1988 miracle season you had a great October but you weren’t exactly as dominant during the regular season.

By the end of the season we may know where the 2017 Dodgers rank in Dodgers history, but for now, let’s see who ranks the best among the teams that came before.
