Despite losing Manny Ramirez for 50 games due to a PED suspension, the Dodgers were still able to lead the National League in wins thanks in part to Kemp and Andre Ethier who both drove in over 100 runs.  Jonathan Broxton was the dominant closer saving 36 games while striking out 114 batters in just 76 innings.

After sweeping a strong St. Louis Cardinals team in the NLDS, the Dodgers fell apart in the NLCS for the second consecutive year to the Philadelphia Phillies losing in five games.  The key loss a blown save in game 4 by Jonathan Broxton putting the Dodgers in a 3-1 hole.
