Paul George has been the biggest target within the Lakers rumors. However, with talks of him joining a powerhouse, who have the Lakers looked at as plan B?

Even before being traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder to partner with Russell Westbrook, Paul George has been the biggest name in the Lakers rumors. The Los Angeles native has made his thoughts clear that it would be a dream to lace it up in the purple and gold. In typically sports fashion, these desires were blown far out of proportion, leading to many accepting it as inevitable.

Then George was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder. While many see this partnership as a one-year deal, if George and Westbrook mesh well they could stay put. Both men are in control of their own future, giving the Lakers a threat to keep George.

Now, a new player has emerged in the Paul George sweepstakes. Tim Kawakami of the Athletic speculated that there is a strong feeling that the Warriors could somehow pursue Paul George. Much like Kevin Durant, this is not strongly documented but could be something the organization has explored.

Normally, this would seem like mere rumors that meant nothing. However, George himself has stated that if he were to go to LA other stars would need to come as well. He is chasing a ring, something the Golden State Warriors could easily give him.

Therefore, there may be a chance that the Lakers don’t get George, and that they have to fall back on plan B. Here are three rumored targets that the Lakers could be exploring as a plan B.
