NBA 2K releases Lakers all-time team

NBA 2K is easily the most decorated basketball video game franchise that we have seen. Gamers, despite frustrations, have turned to 2K to settle their friendship rivalries since 1999. As part of next year’s edition, NBA 2K18, all 30 teams will be receiving their own “All-Time” team compiled of the best players to ever play.

With Shaquille O’Neal set to don the Legends Edition of the game, 2K Studios released a first look at the Lakers’ all-time team; with Shaq front and center.

In the backcourt, we have Magic Johnson and Kobe Bryant. The forwards consist of James Worthy and Pau Gasol, while down low we have O’Neal, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Wilt Chamberlain. Obviously, this team is going to consist of more than just seven players, giving 2K eight more spots to fill in some greats.

Automatic assumptions are Jerry West and Elgin Baylor. With West, Los Angeles still only has three backcourt options. To fill this void, Michael Cooper, Byron Scott and Derek Fisher will likely be called upon. This leaves three more spots open, more than enough room for seven-time NBA Champion Robert Horry.

Gamers will have their choice of Shaq, Chamberlain and Abdul-Jabbar to start at center. Three of the four best centers to ever play, Gamers can even run a huge lineup of Johnson, Bryant, Worthy, Abdul-Jabbar and O’Neal. Whatever path you take, this team will be very fun to play with.
