As if this season wasn’t already insane enough, Yasiel Puig comes to the rescue late at home to steal one from Chicago.

Instead of folding at home and falling to the White Sox, the Los Angeles Dodgers stormed back to take another game away on the last chance.

Thanks to one swing of the bat, Puig sent Chavez Ravine into yet another frenzy. It is really starting to feel like the Dodgers won’t lose no matter what the game circumstances might be.

Also, this was a special moment that the slugger needed to solidify his place. There’s been many questions about how Puig will fit in for the long term. He’s been a part of more trade rumors than he’d probably like to be, but a late game winning hit helps make his case to stick around.

Thanks to Puig’s heroics, Los Angeles is now 51 games past the .500 mark and could find themselves in historic territory soon. The most wins in a regular season remains at 116, but that could change unless something drastic shakes up Los Angeles.

The Dodgers are looking like they could be in championship form, especially if they continue their miraculous late game winning. However, fans won’t care about how many regular season games their team won if the year doesn’t end with them raising the pennant in October.

Puig promised fans that he would see them in the World Series after his game-winning double on Wednesday night versus Chicago. It depends on how they perform in the post-season, as that has caused problems in the past.

Yu Darvish, Clayton Kershaw, and the rest of their insanely good pitching arsenal will also decide how far this team can really go. If the Dodgers keep winning this way, it’ll not only be good for the team — but good for the game.
